Roku 5g Wifi

i have a wifi router at my desk. i'm able to connect to the wifi with Roku Premiere and my laptop no problem. I've tried over and over from Roku Express and for some reason it will not connect to this particular wifi. The first check mark (your wireless network) always displays a red X after a few seconds.

About the same with my Roku TV however the Roku TV on 5G if further from the router but it is almost a perfect line of sight transmission. So I use 5G whenever possible. But you won't get any argument out of me - generally speaking the 2.4 Ghz band does a much better job if you have walls or other obstacle between the Roku player and your router.
Thanks. I was asking about 5g WiFi and have several Roku Expresses. The Express models 2.4 GHz only. Roku Express boxes support a 'n' wifi which can be a 5 GHz network. However, they do not support an 'ac' wifi which the higher end Roku boxes (and sticks) support. Roku will grab the same wifi channel as the nearest wifi access point (e.g. yours) It will broadcast a Wifi Direct SSID DIRECT-roku-123-A2 on the same channel; It will increase its power to stay above your AP if you up the transit power; Most people don’t have the training or tools for wifi problem diagnosis, and probably weren’t even aware. I need to know which current ROKU devices (Year 2020) are capable of using 5ghz wifi. I know some of the older models (Roku Premiere 4620, 4630 and Premiere Plus) were capable of using 5ghz wifi but these are no longer available on the retail market except for used/renewed models. Both the Roku 3 in my house did not show the 5ghz network in the wireless selection screen. I found elsewhere that it is likely a channel issue; I changed to channel 157 as recommended in a DD-WRT forum and that resolved my issue. Now both Roku (or Rokus depending on what you think the plural of Roku is) connect perfectly well to the 5ghz network.
